Dr. Amyn Rajani

Dr. Amyn Rajani is a Consultant Knee, Shoulder and Hip Surgeon with more than two decades of experience in orthopaedics. His clinical practice focuses on arthroscopy, joint replacement, reconstructive procedures and robotic surgery. He has been affiliated with Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai as an arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon since 2011 and also practises at other hospitals and clinics in Mumbai. His surgical expertise includes unicompartmental and total knee replacement, total and reverse shoulder replacement, total hip replacement, and reconstructive arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder and hip. He also performs robotic and revision surgeries involving these joints. Dr. Rajani earned a gold medal in orthopaedic surgery during his MS programme at the University of Mumbai in 2004–2005 and subsequently pursued specialist training in arthroscopy, sports medicine and joint replacement at centres in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Korea and Singapore. He holds certification in robotic joint replacement surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rajani contributes to orthopaedic research and professional education. He has published more than 25 scientific articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals and serves as a reviewer for orthopaedic journals. He is invited faculty at professional courses and conferences and oversees a one-year fellowship programme in arthroscopy and arthroplasty. In 2023, the Arthroscopic Meniscus Repair (AMR) Sign was named after him and published in the Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal. He was also recognised for performing total knee replacement on a 98-year-old patient, an achievement recorded in the Limca Book of Records.
